Dear Family,
On Wednesday, April 29, connectivity issues across New York State prevented many students from completing the Grades 3 – 8 State Mathematics exam, as scheduled. Students who were able to log in and access the exam without incident completed the test; those who were unable to log in or who were kicked out after having done so were advised to complete the exam at a later date.
The State has yet to identify the cause of the issue. Given this, we are pausing the administration of the Math exam and will reschedule once we receive the assurances we need that no additional disruptions will occur. We will use the makeup window from May 15 to minimize additional disruptions to our school community and will be back in touch once the exam is rescheduled.
Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter. While the circumstances are unfortunate, we promise that your student’s academic standing will not be negatively impacted by this disruption.

El miércoles 29 de abril, una serie de problemas de conectividad en todo el estado de Nueva York impidieron que muchos estudiantes completaran el examen estatal de matemáticas para los grados 3 a 8, tal como estaba programado. Los estudiantes que lograron iniciar sesión y acceder al examen sin incidentes completaron la prueba; a aquellos que no pudieron iniciar sesión, o que fueron desconectados tras haberlo hecho, se les indicó que completaran el examen en una fecha posterior. El Estado aún no ha identificado la causa del problema. Ante esta situación, hemos decidido suspender la administración del examen de matemáticas y lo reprogramaremos una vez que recibamos las garantías necesarias de que no se producirán interrupciones adicionales. Utilizaremos el periodo de recuperación, comprendido entre el 15 de mayo, para minimizar las molestias adicionales a nuestra comunidad escolar, y nos pondremos en contacto nuevamente con ustedes una vez que el examen haya sido reprogramado. Les agradecemos su comprensión con respecto a este asunto. Si bien las circunstancias son lamentables, les garantizamos que la situación académica de su estudiante no se verá afectada negativamente por esta interrupción. 目前，州政府方面尚未查明导致此次故障的具体原因。鉴于此，我们将暂停当前的数学考试安排，待收到确切保证——即确保后续不会再发生任何中断故障——之后，再重新安排考试时间。我们将利用5月15日开始的补考窗口期来安排重考，以最大程度地减少对我们学校社区日常教学秩序的干扰；一旦考试时间确定，我们将第一时间通知大家。
